Galah, Eolophus roseicapilla. (35 cm. Open areas. Very common.) The whole
flock will “change colour” as they wheel, revealing the beautiful
pink under-feathers. Many people can recall the day when seeing
a galah was an event, but today they are one of the most prolific
of country
birds. They have continued to thrive, even during drought years,
and obviously this is a species suited by land clearance and crop
cultivation. (H. Frauca)
